Airpower Reborn: The Strategic Concepts of John Warden and John Boyd

'Find the enemy you want and you can try to dictate the form of the war.' That was this reviewer's uneasy first response to reading this exciting, thoughtful, provocative but, ultimately, somewhat partisan account of the role of air power or, rather, its would-be role. The collection is edited by John Andreas Olsen. All-too-many of those who accumulate positions and titles amount to less than the sum of the parts, but Olsen, general deputy director in the Norwegian Ministry of Defence and visiting professor at the Swedish National Defence College, is one of the most impressive as well as energetic figures to make the case for the strategic capacity and use of air power.
