BAA tries to ground Heathrow competitor

Heathrow Airport, with Terminal 5 construction in full swing and more runways and terminals planned, gained another rail service with the launch of Heathrow Connect. This stopping service between Paddington and Terminals 1,2 and 3 operates every 30min and takes 25min compared with 15min for the non-stop Heathrow Express. HEx costs &13 compared with Hconnect &9 for a single standard class journey. Some might think that it is worth saving &4 and taking 10min longer, but BAA is worried that its customers might flock to the new service to deprive them of £4, and is doing its best to stop people travelling between Heathrow and Paddington from using Connect.
