First Great Western unveils refurbished HST cars

The first vehicles in the massive project to refurbish the interiors of 405 HST trailers have been unveiled by First Great Western. The £63million project is the culmination of two years' design work by former Eurostar (and Porsche car) designers Michael Rodber and Mike Muldoon. Possibly the most comprehensive and controversial refurbishment of HST trailers ever undertaken, it is part of FGW's franchise commitment to provide additional capacity. It has, however, resulted in standard class carriages virtually devoid of tables.
