Tube fares and the cost of travelcards in London are to rise from January 2. Transport for London is facing an £80m hole in its budget, which mayor Boris Johnson is blaming on the previous administration of Ken Livingstone. A single zone fare using an Oyster card will rise from £1.60 to £1.80, with the cash fare remaining at £4. A weekly travel card for zones 1 and 2 rises from £16.60 to £19. Other prices are frozen.
