Anger has erupted after it was discovered that One Day Travelcard users on London Underground and buses face a staggering 74 per cent increase when fares rise in January. The Zone 2-6 Travelcard will be scrapped, forcing passengers to buy a Zone 1-6 card - a peak hour ticket rise from £8.60 to £15. Jo deBank of London TravelWatch said: "We are very concerned these inflation-busting fares will price people off public transport.' Valerie Shawcross, London Assembly transport spokeswoman said: 'This was slipped out quietly but Londoners won't fail to notice this huge increase.' Tf L said the Zone 2-6 Travelcard is used by less than 6,000 passengers a day.
