Work by Hitachi engineers to replace the traction inverter equipment on SouthEastern's Class 465/0 and 465/1 fleets is in full flow. Following trials on prototype No. 465181 for several months, the modification to the remainder of the fleet has been quietly taking place at Ashford, and the target is for all 97 units to have been modified by April 2010. The BREL-built units had the poorest reliability of all of the fleet SouthEastern inherited.
