Picture Swindon Junction station on a summer's afternoon in 1958. The 'country' end of platform 5 (now 3) is packed with enthusiasts. Suddenly, the word goes out: "It's 'pegged'!", and a hush descends upon the motley throng; for it is turned 5 o'clock and 'The Bristolian' is due.rnA plume of steam alongside 'The Factor}''; a long, imperious whistle and, for a moment, Drysllwyn Castle is abreast, followed by a string of glistening chocolate & cream, noisily rhythmic over pointwork.
