Locomotives haul trains but visitors ride in carriages. Although the mainstay of Bluebell passenger vehicles are ex-BR Mk 1s, it has far, far more than this to offer. In accordance with its roots, there are service rakes of pre-Grouping coaches, 1920s Pullman cars, 1930s SR Maunsell coaches and early-1950s Bulleid-designed coaches. Moreover, there is an increasing collection of earlier, and very interesting, coaches - not to mention the previously described Chesham set and an expanding fleet of restored freight wagons from several eras.rnHorsted Keynes is the axis of carriage & wagon restoration, but the crucial issue is protecting rolling jewels after they have been saved and restored at great expense in cash and person-hours.
