Engineering work on part of the normal Wrexham & Shropshire route to London Marylebone over the weekend of January 29/30 saw the open access operator rub shoulders with rival Virgin as its services were routed down the West Coast Main Line from Coventry to London. At Willesden, thernWSMR train was routed via Acton Canal Wharf, Acton Main Line, Greenford and then reversed at South Ruislip to gain access to its normal route into Marylebone.
