DB Schenker's wagon fleet will be hit hard by the looming closure of the Corus steelworks at Redcar.rnMore than 100 HGA and PBA covered hoppers are employed, transporting limestone and refined lime products from Hardendale quarry in Cumbria to Teesside.rnHundreds more BAA and BBA flats are used for inter-works movements. Raw billets, blooms and slabs are transferred to other Corus plants in Corby, Shotton and South Wales for finishing.rnNetwork Rail, by contrast, appears to be immune to the recession.
