Bodmin line repaired in time for April gala

Contractors completed repairs to the Bodmin Parkway branch as anticipated, handing back possession to the Bodmin & Wenford Railway on March 26. This enabled the B&WR to hold its April 8-11 gala over the full length of its lines. A half-mile of the Bodmin Parkway branch was hit by flood waters following torrential rain during the night of November 16/17 significantly damaging the trackbed and lineside between Colesloggett Halt and Bodmin Parkway. Fast running flood water caused loss of ballast, damage to the cess and deep scouring along many sleeper ends.
