THE first public trains on the rebuilt Rother Valley Railway ran over the weekend of March 19-20. The mile of RVR line begins at an end-on junction with the Kent & East Sussex Railway at Bodiam and runs through to a buffer stop adjacent to Udiam Farm, a few yards short of the B2244 (Junction Road). The first passenger train, a VIP dining special, ran on March 18 with the first public operation on the morning of the 19th. Trains throughout the weekend were operated by the K&ESR, services starting at Tenterden and running nonstop through Bodiam.
