A major contract for work on the Crossrail project, which falls under the Paddington Integrated Project(PIP) preparatory scheme, has been awarded to Carillion. This contract will lead to some of the major changes needed at Paddington for Crossrail and is a close collaboration between the major partners in the project - Network Rail, London Underground, Transport for London and Crossrail. Work that will be carried out under this contract will include a new station on the Hammersmith & City Line station that will alleviate over-crowding, have improved access and also provide scope for future passenger growth.
