Journalists are, by nature, always looking for something out of the ordinary - and Robin Jones has certainly found what he was searching for here! The editor of The RM's sister title, Heritage Railway, has amassed a collection of 34 weird and wonderful operations or locations that could loosely be described as trains or guided transport systems. They include the Haytor Granite Tramway, the'Steam Elephant', Brunei's Atmospheric Railway, wind-powered trains, hovertrains, monorails, rail-adapted road vehicles, the Listowel & Ballybunion Railway and the line at the former North Sea Camp young offenders' institution.
