Troubled summer for charters made worse by ASLEF industrial action

As If the main line charter business hasn't been challenging enough this summer - in particular with the Olympic Games and former tour promoters trying to re-enter the market - DB Schenker (DBS) drivers belonging to the ASLEF union have started an overtime ban and are also refusing to work their rest days. The industrial action started in mid-August and has seriously affected those promoters who use DBS as their train operator, such as Orient Express, Steam Dreams and UK Railtours.
