2MT moves from Darlington to GCR for completion... and a 10-year stay

Partially restored 2MT 2-6-0 No. 78018 is expected to arrive at the Great Central Railway by the end of September. The Darlington Railway Preservation Society has been restoring the loco in the ex-Stockton & Darlington Railway goods shed on the site which encompasses Head of Steam (Darlington Railway Museum) since 1981. The GCR will complete the work at Loughborough and No. 78018 will remain based at the GCR for 10 years, although it will be able to periodically visit other heritage lines.
