Plenty of vantage points at Mangapps

A delightful wintry scene at the Mangapps Railway, Burnham-on-Crouch, Essex on February 11. This line (55 chains in length) was unfortunately overlooked in the Going Lineside feature (RM April). Lineside passes are not issued or needed as most of the line is viewable from footpaths alongside. On one side, the railway has its own path and there is a public right of way for much of its length on the other side. This makes it one of the most accessible operating lines for photographers. There is also a good vantage point from the signalbox platform, which gives a panoramic view of the station and yard areas. The loco workshops are not open to visitors for health and safety/insurance reasons.
