WSR tries 'extending'services to Barnstaple Junction

The West Somerset Railway's Late Summer Weekend event featured four steam and five diesel locos. The four steam locos at the August 31-September 1 gala were Nos. 3850,6990, 7828 and 9351. An experimental innovation for this event saw the alternate hourly steam-hauled services extended to Barnstaple Junction rather than terminating at Bishops Lydeard, all steam locos running smokebox first in both directions.
