SVR calls on ELR Type 3 to ease motive power shortfall

In addition to having a potential coal shortage on the Severn Valley Railway, resident Class 37 No. 37906 is out of action for repair. To ensure sufficient motive power is available this summer, Class 37 No. 37109, owned by Chris Guntripp, an SVR and Diesel Traction Group member, was delivered to Kidderminster by rail on May 21, as seen above. Normally based on the East Lancashire Railway, it was towed from an appearance at the Nene Valley Railway by Class 56s Nos. 56301 (Class 56 Group) and 56303 (DCR), all three having attended the NVR's May 18-19 diesel gala.
