Felixstowe's North rail terminal is opened by the Duke of York

A new rail terminal has officially opened at the Port of Felixstowe, which will eventually double the rail capacity at Britain's biggest container port. The North Rail terminal, which has cost £40million, was inaugurated by the Duke of York. The nine-track terminal is part of a £300m expansion scheme by owners Hutchison Ports and gives the port 20 lines and the ability to handle longer trains. Longer passing loops are being built along routes taken by trains to the inland terminals.
