Tender tank leak stops SDR 2251 class

The South Devon Railway's GWR 2251 class 0-6-0 No. 3205 was stopped at the beginning of June due to a leak from the tender tank. The loco was set to miss most of June anyway while receiving a routine annual examination, however the intermittent, but persistent, water leakage adds a new dimension. The source of the leak was unclear and needed to be established while No. 3205 received its exam. If the problem is in the bottom of the water tank the body will have to be lifted and a new floor fitted. If it emanates from the side sheets, ultimately a new body structure will be needed. There do not appear to be any options for borrowing a tender from elsewhere.
