Conon Bridge station opens

The Far North Line has gained an all-new station with the opening of Conon Bridge by Scottish Transport Minister Keith Brown on February 8. The £600,000 station is just under three miles south of Dingwall and offers passengers an alternative to Muir of Ord, the next station to the south. Initial predictions are for 36,000 passengers a year. It is expected to be extensively used following the start of resurfacing work on the A9's Kessock Bridge at Inverness, which will last four months.
