An exciting proposal for a world-class railway museum in Leicester has been announced by the Great Central Railway. Work on the £1 Omillion project could begin within two years. In partnership with Leicester City Council and the National Railway Museum, the GCR hopes to create the attraction next to its Leicester North station and provide the York-based NRM with a second annexe to take some of the pressure off its Locomotion outstation in Shildon, County Durham.
