Minister opens improved Peterborough

A new-look Peterborough station was opened by Transport Minister Simon Burns on November 14 following improvements worth ￡3.3million. The project gives the city a revitalised gateway that is also aimed at supporting the projected growth in passengers. Work includes a redesigned station frontage, including a bold and innovative station canopy and enhanced lighting. The concourse results in a bigger and brighter station, with much improved accessibility for all passengers. There are new electronic information screens offering clearer and more reliable displays, and easier customer access to station staff able to offer help with specific queries. Seating has also been improved. An automatic ticket gateline has been fitted at this previously'open'station, along with new CCTV.
