£100k appeal success as Y14 gets ready for ELR trial runs

Completion of the M&GN Society's Great Eastern Y14 No. 7562 was tantalisingly close as The RM went to press in late January. The 1912-built 0-6-0 is being retro-converted from an LNER Class J15 to original GER condition, and the £ 100,000 overhaul appeal was surpassed simultaneous to final preparations being made for its first trial runs at the East Lancashire Railway in early February. Following final painting at Riley & Sons workshops in Bury, the ultramarine-liveried Worsdell engine will return to the North Norfolk Railway for rededication later in the month.
