A further Midland Region-appropriate locomotive has been confirmed for Barrow Hill's ever-growing steam gala -8F No. 8274. The Toddington-based ex-Turkish 2-8-0 will take centre stage at the September 26-27 Midland-themed event, joining the already confirmed visiting Stanier 4MT tank No. 42500 and Pacific No. 46233 Duchess of Sutherland. None of those guests have appeared at a public show at Barrow Hill before. Long-term resident Johnson 1F No.41708 and 4-4-0 Compound No. 1000 brings the tally of engines confirmed so far to five. Meanwhile, an agreement in principle has been reached to hire in "Flying Pig" No. 43106 from the Severn Valley Railway.
