South Wales lines ooze 'sheds appeal'

TWO South Wales heritage lines are seeking to provide covered accommodation for their rolling stock as more railways look to safeguard the future of their irreplaceable passenger fleet. In early November, the Pontypool & Blaenavon Railway awarded the contract for the erection of a new three-road carriage shed at Furnace Sidings. The new shed will be built on the site of the former Down Exchange Sidings, with construction expected to start in January.
