EARLY in March a blizzard raged in Lochaber for three days, and big snowdrifts have formed in exposed localities. On Tuesday night, March 6th, the West Highland Railway was completely blocked, and the afternoon passenger train from Fort William to Glasgow, which was held up throughout the night on Rannoch Moor, was sent back on Wednesday. Two other trains were embedded in the snow, and though large squads of men have been put to work clearing the drifts a passage is no sooner cleared than it is blocked again.
