Signs of the Times

Gloucester Road Underground station in West London still proudly proclaims its Metropolitan & District Railway allegiance, opening in 1868 as Brompton (Gloucester Road). Great Western Railway-style signs still hang at Bristol Temple Meads station. Elsewhere at the Grade Misted station other facets of GWR style exist. An ornate lamp at the Grade II listed Ulverston station with an intricate 'FR' representing the Furness Railway.
