c2c orders six 'Aventra' EMUs

LONDON and South East commuter operator c2c has ordered six 10-car'Aventra' EMUs from Bombardier. The trains will be built in Derby. c2c owners Trenitalia, together with Porterbrook Leasing and the DfT, have signed off the deal, worth £100million, that will see the 60 carriages delivered in 2021, three years earlier than previously planned. The new fleet will add nearly 20% more seats and capacity to c2c's current fleet - for more than 5,000 more passengers - and meet the expected future local passenger growth across south Essex and east London.
