MATERIAL suitable for incorporation in the 440m-long embankment at Pont-y-Goedwig required for Corn's Railway's southern extension was delivered in late March. Transport from a site near Dolgellau was undertaken by a local contractor, with the required plant and machinery able to work within current Government restrictions. FFESTINIOG Railway (FR) has confirmed the Covid-19 outbreak has forced cancellation of the June 20-21 Welsh Pony Launch event (RM May). FR hopes its planned autumn Vintage Weekend will present another opportunity to launch the restored loco. FR has also confirmed cancellation of its Journey Into The Past heritage tours and annual Young Persons Training Week event, both projected for August.
