Ecclesbourne Valley now owns Duffield to Wirksworth line

THE Ecclesbourne Valley Railway has taken full ownership of the nine-mile branch line from Duffield to Wirksworth, making it the only heritage line in Derbyshire that owns its infrastructure outright. Owning company WyvernRail plc completed the purchase of the railway from Network Rail on December 9, following several years of negotiations.
