The accreditation of the new Railway Systems course at the Erfurt University of Applied Sciences (FH Erfurt) represents not just an addition to the academic landscape in the transportation field but also underscores the established cooperation between DB Netz AG and FH Erfurt. This dual course, leading to the degree of "Bachelor of Engineering in Railway Systems", focusing on railway operation and infrastructure", offers a targeted synthesis of theory and practice by combining a railway-specific vocational training at DB Netz AG with business and technical education at FH Erfurt. For high-school graduates, this is an attractive option with integration into a major railway infrastructure manager. DB Netz AG supports the course at FH Erfurt by endowing a railway systems professorship with a main focus on control and signalling systems.%In einem früheren Beitrag im Eisenbahningenieur (Ausgabe 5/2006) hatten wir über die damals unmittelbar bevorstehende Etablierung des dualen Wirtschaftsingeni-eurstudiengangs mit eisenbahnspezifischer Vertiefung „Bahnbetrieb und Infrastruktur" mit Bachelor-Abschluss an der FH Erfurt in Kooperation mit der DB Netz AG berichtet. Mittlerweile absolvieren die ersten Studenten dieses Studium erfolgreich im letzten Studienabschnitt und ein erstes positives Resümee kann gezogen werden. Zwischenzeitlich wurde der neue grundständige Studiengang „Eisenbahnwesen" akkreditiert und eine Stiftungsprofessur mit dem Schwerpunkt Leit- und Sicherungstechnik implementiert.
