On Jan. 25, 2013, members from RCMP headquarters and Halifax District attended the provincial launch of African Heritage Month at Province House. This year marks the 29th year African Heritage has been celebrated in Nova Scotia. This year's theme is "Then and Now: Our Journey Continues" and pays tribute to historic African Nova Scotian communities and the changes that have occurred over time. It is a chance to acknowledge the gains made and examine what needs to be done to ensure a bright future.
