Several months ago, Danner sent The Police Marksman a pair of their Striker Side Zip GTX 8" boots for evaluation. I spent my first night putting the polish to them and noticed immediately how the quality of Danner's leather responded to my efforts. Danner prides themselves in their utilization of leather from the finest tanneries in the world. Only full-grain leather is used since it is the longest lasting and most durable layer of the hide. Furthermore, Danner's leather is what they call "struck through" so that even when scuffed, the boots will stay black. Hitting the boots with polish every couple of days took only minutes to bring back the original gloss.
