P&o's Good Vibrations

Marine Software has received an order covering vibration monitoring upgrades for 16 vessels operated by P&O Ferries. Marine Software will work with RCM Marine, which will be supplying the RCM 'Mariner' handheld units and constructing the unique equipment databases for each vessel as part of the standard package. The Marine Planned Maintenance ('MPMWin') has been upgraded with an additional vibration job routine which, is linked to a machine in the RCM vibration Database. P&O Ferries' engineering staff will take vibration readings as part of their normal planned maintenance routines using the RCM 'Mariner' unit. Vibration readings will then be downloaded into the RCM Software which will give users a simple traffic light status of the machinery, along with access to all previous readings and graphs.
