Thales and ASV start trials with Halcyon MCM USV demonstrator

A variant of ASV's generic C-Sweep semi-planing platform, the demonstrator vessel has been constructed by ASV at its Portchester yard under contract to Thales. Although intended to have broad application as a generic USV demonstrator platform, the near-term focus for the private-venture programme is the UK's Hunt-class USV minesweep programme, an initial increment of the Mine Warfare, Hydrographic and Patrol Capability (MHPC) programme.
