Thales UK, ASV to Develop USV for MCM

Thales UK (Bristol, England) has signed a contract with Autonomous Surface Vehicles Ltd. (Portchester, England), or ASV, to develop a reconfigurable USV for offboard mine counter-measures (MCM) operations, Thales announced in Jyly. The low-signature USV will be deployable from military platforms, craft of opportunity and from shore, and will be air transportable. It will have the payload flexibility for UUVs and towed sonar, disposal and minesweeping systems.
