Damen links up with Song Cam

Damen Shipyards Group has entered into a joint venture with the Song Cam shipyard in Vietnam, in a move which has seen this facility rebranded Damen Song Cam. Featuring direct access to open sea, the yard is expected to complete approximately 40 ships per year during its initial phase of operation. Damen has previously worked alongside Vietnamese builders, having constructed more than 225 vessels with such partner yards. Playing host to a current total of 300 workers, the Damen Song Cam site covers some 430,000m~3, 500m of which can be accessed directly via the River Cam. Facilities include a 120m × 85m outfitting hall, complete with three 25tonne overhead cranes, and a selection of workshops.
