OCEAN NOW - A NOR-SHIPPING TASTER

Nor-Shipping 2021 became one of many victims of the Covid-19 pandemic, now delayed until 10-13 January 2022, but its two-day hybrid event Ocean Now - an activity programme of in-person and online talk shows, forums, presentations and more - took place on 1-2 June in Oslo, Norway. Central to the entire programme was 'taking #ACTION', drawing attention to the people, products and innovative solutions that are instigating progress and results for the maritime industry, with major Norwegian Nor-Shipping partners such as Norwegian bank DMB, marine insurers Skuld and coating specialists Jotun taking centre stage. Unsurprisingly, shipping's long-term emission goals for 2030 and 2050, compounded by IMO's upcoming implementation of EEXI and CII measures, put decarbonisation and its demands on the entire maritime ecosystem at the forefront of discussions.
