Naval markets 'showed resilience' in 2020

The naval market in 2020 remained 'highly active' according to DNV GL, the worlds largest classification society. The company's traditional markets - northern and western Europe, Australasia, Southeast Asia, and South America - were the mainstay of its contract wins in what it described as "a resilient market" in 2020. "We secured many orders in 2020, probably helped in part by governments releasing funds for naval yards to support employment amid the Covid-19 pandemic," Christian von Oldershausen, Naval Segment director, DNV GL -Maritime explained.
