New patrol boats ordered for Royal Navy Gibraltar Squadron

The UK Ministry of Defence is acquiring two new fast patrol craft to meet the needs of the Royal Navy's Gibraltar Squadron. Marine Specialised Technology (MST), based in Liverpool, will deliver two 19-m boats under a £9.9 million (USD13 million) contract announced in July 2020. The new vessels will replace HMS Sabre and HMS Scimitar, both of which have now been retired after more than 30 years in Royal Navy service.
