Combined knowledge provides benefits to Finland's maritime industry

The Helsinki University of Technology (HUT) together with the Technical Research Centre of Finland (VTT) focuses on the areas of ship laboratory and manufacturing technology respectively, and together forms a joint venture known as the Maritime Institute of Finland. By combining experience, the Institute is thereby able to provide the scientificrnactivities of a university and the applied research of a specialist facility, and perform studies mainly to the overall benefit of Finland's maritime industry.rnMain fields of study include hydrodynamic design, structures, Arctic technology, ship operations, safety and environment, and machinery.
