Mono-pile upending and guidance system supplied to UK project

In April 2005 Gusto, of The Netherlands, supplied Marine Projects International with a purpose-built mono-pile upending and guidance system. This project was designed, built, and installed in an impressive time of five months. The system has been installed at the stern of MPI's Resolution self-propelled jack-up barge. It will be used for the upending of large and heavy mono-piles. The system provides guidance of these piles during offshore installation at sea. Each mono-pile is driven into the seabed by a hydrohammer and serves as the foundation of an offshore wind turbine.
