Multiple semisubmersible projects for design consultancy

At the end of May last year, Maersk Contractors ordered two deepwater development drilling semisubmersibles from Keppel FELS, Singapore. These units are of the DSS21 design, which is jointly being developed by the Deepwater Development group of Keppel FELS, and GustoMSC. The rigs are set to be delivered in 2008 and 2009. The units are designed to operate at water depths of up to 3048m in moderate environmental conditions such as West Africa, Brazil, the Gulf of Mexico, and South East Asia. A dynamic positioning thruster system is fitted, and the unit can be attached to a pre-laid mooring system. The accommodation onboard each rig is laid out for 180 people.
