Incat Australia Pty Ltd, the innovative Tasmanian shipbuilder, has won a breakthrough contract to supply two of its newly-developed 112m-long high-speed catamaran ferries to the Japanese group Libera Corp. The first of the large Evolution One 12 vessels, which are scheduled to link the Japanese port cities of Aomori and Hakodate (Honshu to Hokkaido islands), is due to be delivered in June 2007 with the second supplied a year later in mid-2008.
