Efficient product/chemical tankers from Romania

During October, the first example of a newly created 15,000dwt coated product/chemical tanker design was delivered by the Aker Braila yard in Romania. Although this shipbuilder often fabricates hulls for outfitting elsewhere, this particular series is being totally completed there. The design, known as the Aker TP150 type, was developed by the Norwegian consultancy Aker Brevik Engineering, and model-tested at Marintek, in Trondheim, from where it is reported that the hull has some of the most efficient lines ever seen there for a ship of this type.
