Chris-Marine launches electric honing unit

Engine maintenance machine specialist Chris-Marine has launched an electrically-driven cylinder lining honing machine for four-stroke and small two-stroke engine cylinders. The HON EL allows users far greater control over the honing process than hydraulic cylinder lining honing machines. The operator can set the cross pattern, choose the duration of the honing treatment and control which section of the liner to treat. The new system also features 'automatic stroke control' thanks to Chris-Marine's intelligent turning-point algorithm (ITA) technology. The unit is almost soundless in operation and also hosts a built-in safety feature for when the honing head is removed from the liner.
