This week's release of the Mclntosh reprt could force Scottish councils into a radical management shake-up, as MJ's Scottish correspondent, Mark Lewis, explains. The full implications of the Mclntosh Commission report into the future of local government under the Scottish Parliament are now being considered by Scotland's council chiefs. The report, the result of 15 months' research by a team led by former Strathclyde chief executive Neil Mclntosh, has been described as 'a menu for change that's fit for a new Scotland' by communities minister Wendy Alexander. She said the Scottish Executive would give a swift but considered response on 2 July.
