DOE's Office of Cybersecurity, Energy Security, and Emergency Response (CESER) announced three new research programs to safeguard the U.S. energy system from cyber and physical hazards. The new CESER programs will help address potential global supply chainsecurity vulnerabilities, protect criticalinfrastructure from electromagnetic and geomagnetic interference, and build a research and talent pipeline for next-generation cybersecurity.Securing against vulnerabilities in globally-sourced technologies. The global supply chains the United States relies on creates openings for security vulnerabilities. CESER is joining with Schweitzer Engineering Laboratories in the Cyber Testing for Resilient Industrial Control System Program to use state-of-the-art analytics to test the digital tools used by energy sector partners for security issues and make it easier to identify and address potential vulnerabilities within industrial control systems.
